Condominium Insurance

Owning a condominium is the perfect balance between renting and home ownership. You own your condo but a lot of the maintenance is typically taken care of by the condominium association, making it more hassle free.

Westgate Insurance Agency understands that condominium insurance has special needs attached to it and our team will be happy to explain what your options are to make sure you’re fully protected.

Personal Insurance Options Include

Since your condo association’s insurance typically covers the building itself, there can be some confusion to why condo insurance is even needed. While the building may covered, your personal possessions are not. Items that are located inside of your condominium are your responsibility to insure. Such items include:

  • Electronics
  • Clothing
  • Furniture
  • Fixtures (lighting, cabinets, etc.)
  • Drywall

On top of you needing to protect your personal items and fixtures, you also need liability insurance in case someone injures themselves while they’re in your home. Not sure how much insurance you need for your condo?  One of our experienced team members will help you estimate what is right for your situation.

What Does Condominium Insurance Cover?

Condominium insurance can help protect you against damage from theft, smoke, fire and lightning to name a few.  Remember, your association’s coverage normally stops at the exterior walls and fixtures of your building so you still need to have protection for everything on the inside.

They are knowledgeable and very helpful. Steve did a great job with my new policy.
